The Garden Beekeeper's Favorite Color.
The bees use every opportunity during the shorter days to ingest yellow pollen as protein feed. They need protein from pollen in addition to the carbohydrates from honey to feed the larvae.
At present, the offsprings still have to build up bee mass so that they will be strong enough for the winter. In September, the colonies also start raising particularly long-lived winter
bees.
The flight holes of the offspring colonies are now smaller, so that there is sometimes a traffic jam when flying in and out. Small flight holes are much easier for the bees to defend against bees
from other colonies or other intruders such as wasps.
The "old aunts" are also clearly visible: at the end of their fulfilled bee life, after many flights and fights, they have less and less hair "on their back".
And yellow is the favourite colour of the garden beekeeper.
