For the first time, the garden beekeeper has created artificial swarms, with young bees from several honey chambers of the productive colonies, and with an unmated queen from the breeder. Now the colonies are in their new artificial swarm boxes for three days in the cellar. During this cellar arrest, this cluster of bees becomes a colony. Only then will they be allowed to move into their final hives at a new location, and the queen will make her mating flight.

The hive scale reveals that the Heilbronn bees after a pleasant, about 3 weeks lasting linden harvest, now hardly find more nectar. Soon the honey can be extracted! While the collected summer honey is still drying and ripening in the hives, the youngster colonies at the location a few kilometers outside of Heilbronn are thriving splendidly. With their white marked queens, these young colonies are the racehorses of the next year.

Yesterday was midsummer, the longest day of the year.
