Let Winter Come.
The bee colonies have already been completely fed for several weeks.
At the two offshoots, many varroa mites were finally found on soil slides, a consequence of the formic acid treatment not being carried out in late summer in favour of the urgently needed
population growth.
In the meantime these colonies have become broodless, which is an important prerequisite for the effect of a treatment with 15% lactic acid. Yesterday, they received emergency treatment. Only a
few hours after spraying the bees on the combs, the effect was already evident from the high number of dead mites on the diapers.
The garden beekeeper hopes that the winter bees have not been weakened too much by these parasites and that the two colonies get through the winter well.
Now winter can come, there is nothing more to do for the beekeeper. Now it is time again to say: Beekeeper, sit on your hands!
