The bee colonies are ready to collect delicious spring honey and rape honey. And the garden beekeeper moves back into his place in the sun :-)

On 21.03. was equinox. The colonies are again in brood, there were first flight days. Feed consumption increases, at the same time the weight loss of the hives becomes smaller, because nectar and pollen is already brought in.

The phase of going through springtime is critical for the bee colonies: old bees die successively and leave the hive, the colony invests all its energy in raising new bees. Many young bees are born and replace the old ones - a generation change takes place.

Spring is approaching in big steps, nature is about to explode. The honey chambers are set up, and there are first days when the weight increases.

The isolated peaks upwards at the blue curve come from snow-covered hives. The downward outliers are measurement errors due to moisture in the plug.
