Winter Project Beelogger.
The days are short and there is not much left to do with the bees. Time for a new craft project!
6 Beelogger hive scales are being built - 3 for the garden beekeeper, and 3 for his beekeeper mentor.
The hive scales will regularly send the hive weight, temperature and humidity to the cloud via LTE mobile communications. This data can be accessed at any time from anywhere in the world. So if the garden beekeeper ever travels to Japan, China or America again, for example, or sits on the couch and is too lazy to get up, he can see from there what his ladies are up to...
The system is very energy efficient and with the help of the small solar cells will work completely self-sufficient in energy.
The frame is welded from steel and galvanized. The sensor for temperature and humidity will be housed in a weatherproof enclosure. This housing and the housing for the electronics come from the 3D printer.
Shortly before Christmas, the parts were delivered and the 3D design is well advanced. So the system can now be built and the racks manufactured in teamwork with the beekeeper sponsor.
Just in time for the beginning of the spring the stock scales should be finished and ready for use. More detailed information about the construction here.
