Own Wax Line.

A good wax quality has a positive effect on the development of the colonies. It is not without reason that an own wax cycle, or better an own wax line, is one of the essential basics of an organic beekeeping and is an integral part e.g. of the Bioland guidelines.

Wax is actually available in abundance, because the natural building instinct causes the bees to constantly produce fresh wax. The beekeeper just has to use it properly.

With our own waxing line, only young, unpolluted wax from our own bee colonies is used for the production of new wax foundations. Wax from older, incubated combs is successively removed from the colonies and processed into candles, for example.

This not only ensures systematic honeycomb hygiene, but also prevents environmental toxins from accumulating in the wax or wax stretched with stearin or paraffin, for example, from accidentally reaching the colonies.

Such wax adulterations are repeatedly reported in the media, which leads garden beekeepers to consistently switch to their own wax line.

In order to remove all old wax, in a first step all bee colonies were hammered on new frames, in which the bees build completely new honeycombs. This is at the expense of the honey yield, but is nevertheless a worthwhile investment. The incubated combs were placed over a barrier grid, where the brood will run out (hatch) over the next few weeks. Afterwards all old combs will be removed.
