The First Honey Wine.

Take the best honey and fresh water, add some yeast, nutrient salt and a little acid, mix the whole thing and you have a mixture for honey wine. Put the mead mixture into a barrel and seal it with a fermenting bung in an airtight container, and then wait patiently for the yeast to transform the honey sweetness into alcohol.

This happened yesterday for the first time in the garden beekeeper's kitchen. Judging by the bubbling in the fermenting bung, the fermentation is already in full swing and will take several weeks.

For the garden beekeeper this first self-made mead is an experiment.

By the way, the must already tastes delicious :-)
