Spring Observations.
The time between winter dormancy and the beginning of fruit blossoming, i.e. the passage through the spring, is the last challenge that the bee colonies have to overcome before the "big
blossoming" begins. During this period, bees intensify their brooding activity and consume most of their supplies. If the food reserves were too scarce, the colonies could still starve.
The winter bees now die little by little. If it is not possible to produce new young quickly enough, the colony continues to shrink before the start of fruit blossoming and the colony literally
"explodes".
During the last days the bees flew already intensively and brought in above all pollen. However, the weight of the boxes continues to decrease.
The garden beekeeper keeps sitting on his hands.
