First Excursions.

Nature is longingly waiting for spring. Today the sun was already shining strongly, so that after night temperatures of -5°C the temperatures in the afternoon climbed above 15°C for the first time. How nice it is to hear the busy buzzing of the bees again!

The cleaning flight and the flying in of the bees after the long winter are a fascinating spectacle. The bees seem to be flying around in a frenzy of joy and enjoy the first early blooming flowers such as winterlings, crocuses and snowdrops. Filled up with pollen and with fat pollen panties they return home to the hive. Dead bees are carried from the hive and water is fetched diligently.

The garden beekeeper gratefully notes that all his colonies have survived the winter.

According to the weather forecast, the joy will only last for a short time, because the next 14 days will be cold and wet again.
